      <description>As of 14 August 2024, three years after the initial release, the regular security support for Debian 11, alias Bullseye, comes to an end. The Debian Long Term Support (LTS) Team will take over security support from the Security and the Release Teams.&#xA;Information for users Bullseye LTS will be supported from 15 August 2024 to 31 August 2026.&#xA;Whenever possible, users are encouraged to upgrade their machines to Debian 12, alias Bookworm, the current Debian stable release.</description>

      <description>On Saturday 3 August 2024, the annual Debian Developers and Contributors Conference came to a close.&#xA;Over 339 attendees representing 48 countries from around the world came together for a combined 108 events made up of more than 50 Talks and Discussions, 37 Birds of a Feather (BoF – informal meeting between developers and users) sessions, 12 workshops, and activities in support of furthering our distribution and free software (25 patches submitted to the Linux kernel), learning from our mentors and peers, building our community, and having a bit of fun.</description>

      <description>Following the undue registration of the Debian trademark in SWitzerland by the company of an ex-Debian Developer who has been conducting a heavy smear campaign against Debian since 2018, the Debian project has taken robust action to secure its trademarks and interests world-wide.&#xA;In November 2023, following a legal action brought by Debian, the Tribunal Cantonal of the Canton of Vaud ruled that the registration of the DEBIAN mark in Switzerland by Open Source Developer Freedoms SA in liquidation (OSDF) – formerly Software Freedom Institute SA – was a misappropriation of the Debian trademark, as the latter is well known and established in the IT sector worldwide.</description>
